Welcome to The Crowded Couch, a place where there is always a project in the works! The name comes from my son’s constant complaint that one needs to shovel a pile of yarn…or craft books…or sketch pads…off the couch before you have room to sit down. That’s because the couch is my crafty domain…I can’t watch tv without a crochet hook or knitting needles in hand, or a drawing in the works. The next house will have a craft room, you can bet your asterisk on that!
I’m part crafter, part artist, with a little bit of hoarder thrown in for good measure. I never met a craft book I didn’t like, and I can’t leave Michael’s or Hobby Lobby empty handed, whether I really need something or not. I’ve often said I should be working at a craft store, but I’d probably end up owing them money at the end of the week.
The purpose of this site is to share my artistic and crafty exploits and pass along some of the hacks I’ve discovered that might make your crafting easier and A lot more fun.
